Each beach in the province has its own characteristics that make them unique. Sitia has a long and protected from the current beach due to Dionysades isands. Dionysades uninhabited islands cut off strong currents and prevent wave development at the beach.  Sitia Beach is usually busy during high season but never really crowded.  Most parts of the beach are organized, there are bars, umbrellas, and sunbeds, though there are still places to lay your towel. If you prefer staying active you can play volleyball at the beach court, or you can explore the bottom of the sea and discover Sitia’s boat shipwreck.

Other popular beaches are Vai, Erimoupoli, Kouremenos, Maridati, Kato Zakros and Xerokampos are not all accessible with public transport.
