Sitia

Beauty of Sitia

The charming destination of Sitia, less than 70 km east of Agios Nikolaos, has year-round appeal but is mostly known as a passage to Vai palm forest in the summertime.

The wider area of Sitia gives way to a variety of beaches, archaeological sites, an array of shops, seafront restaurants, and cafés, and a host of landmark cultural events, such as the annual Mediterranean festival, to entice curious, culture-seeking travelers. You’ll find it hard not to be tempted by its outdoor activity prospects, from child-friendly hikes to kitesurfing and stand-up paddleboarding.

How to get here

Arriving at Sitia harbor, you'll immediately spot the imposing Kazarma Fortress, which dates back to the 13th century. It is an ideal place from which you have a panoramic view of the city. Porto Kaza built close to Kazarma fortress and the old Venetian neighborhood, captured the sense of a unique peaceful seaside living only a breath away from the city center.
