  1. Kazantzakis International Airport

Located 5 km east of the main city center of Heraklion, N.Kazantzakis is Greece's second-largest airport. It serves more than 7 million travelers yearly. There are 3 ways to get from Heraklion to Sitia; by bus, taxi and car.

By bus

K.T.EL Cretes offers affordable transfer between Heraklion and Sitia, with 4 departures throughout the day. The travel time is approximately 3.5 hours and the regular ticket price is 16 €. Check the departure time here

By taxi

Taxis are available outside of the airport. Be sure to ask the driver if the company applies fixed prices from the airport. There are maximum price limits for a taxi ride from Heraklion to Sitia.

By car

By car, it takes approximately 120 minutes to drive the 133 km from the airport to the center of Sitia. You follow the direction to Agios Nikolaos.

  1. Vitsentzos Kornaros Airport

Vitsentzos Kornaros Airport is Cretes's third airport. It's located just 1 km northwest of the city center of Sitia. The airport is mainly used for domestic flights, and you can fly to many Greek cities, such as Athens, Heraklion, Alexandroupoli, and Preveza. During the summer season 4 more direct flights to Sweden are added.

Unfortunately, there are no public transports from Sitia Airport to the city Center though taxis are not very expensive. Taxis take around 10 mins to Sitia and the fare is approximately 12€. Taxis are available outside of the airport
